A Straight-Up Guide to Mother’s Day Flowers in Raleigh (No Fluff)

Here’s what you need to know, without the sales pitch.

How Much Should You Spend?

Depends on the arrangement, not the sentiment. $75-100 gets you a beautiful, well-designed arrangement that will make her genuinely happy. $125-175 gets you something larger and more dramatic — the kind of thing she puts on the dining table and rearranges the room around. Over $200 and you’re into statement territory — multi-stem orchids, luxury vessels, the works.

None of those numbers are wrong. Pick the one that fits your budget and stop feeling guilty about it. A $75 arrangement from a good florist beats a $150 arrangement from a bad one every single time.

When Should You Order?

Now. Or at least this week. Not because we’re trying to create urgency — because it’s true. The best stems get claimed early. Peonies, garden roses, ranunculus — there’s a limited supply from the farms and every florist in Raleigh is ordering from the same wholesalers.

Order by Wednesday of Mother’s Day week and you’ll get the best selection. Order on Friday and you’ll get something beautiful but built from whatever’s left. Order on Saturday morning and you’re asking for a miracle. We’ll try, but no promises.

Roses or No Roses?

Roses are fine. They’re classic for a reason. But if your mom is the kind of person who’d appreciate something a little different, ask for a mixed arrangement. Roses mixed with ranunculus, spray roses, seasonal greens, maybe some texture flowers — that’s more interesting than a straight dozen.

If she’s specifically a rose person, go for garden roses instead of standard long-stems. Garden roses look like something from an oil painting. Regular roses look like… regular roses. Both are beautiful, but one makes her call her sister.

What About Orchids?

Orchids are the move nobody thinks of. A Phalaenopsis orchid in a nice pot blooms for two to four months. Your Mother’s Day gift is still on her counter in August. She waters it once a week — that’s the entire care routine.

It doesn’t look like typical Mother’s Day flowers, which is part of the appeal. It looks like a permanent design object. Guests notice it. She tells them where it came from. You get credit for months instead of days.

Delivery or Pickup?

Delivery. Always delivery on Mother’s Day. The whole point is that something beautiful shows up at her door without her expecting it. If you hand her flowers at brunch, it’s nice. If they’re waiting for her when she gets home, it’s a moment.

We deliver across Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Apex, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest — the full Triangle. We text before we arrive. We don’t leave flowers on porches.

The Card Message

You get 300 characters. You don’t need all of them. “I love you, Mom. Thank you for everything.” That’s 42 characters and it’s perfect. Don’t overthink this part. She’s not reading it for literary quality. She’s reading it through tears.

Do It

Mother’s Day is May 11th. You read a whole article about flowers, which means you care more than you think you do. Act on it.
